Do you celebrate birthdays or dread them? It’s become a topic of conversation as more birthdays come and go.
My stance is firmly: CELEBRATE!
Each year that you are given to experience life and live amongst your friends and family, on this earth, is worth a proud celebration. Be proud of your years and your number. Each year holds something beautiful, even if it happens to be a year of struggle, it is a year that offers personal growth and a year that will make you appreciate the sweetness and beauty of the happy years to come. I lost my mother to breast cancer three years ago (the little picture on my desk is me as a baby sleeping with her), and since then, I have tried to be especially proud and grateful for the birthdays I am blessed to celebrate with my loved ones.
I hope if you are a birthday dreader this thought-process will inspire you to become proud of your number.
So of course I decorated this week to be extra pretty so I felt joy every time I referenced it this week! I started with the Soft Spoken Hip Hip Hooray sticker pack because I almost fainted with joy when I saw all the gold! I couldn’t make the big gold “birthday” sticker work in my spread. It was devastating. However, I quickly rebounded with the “Make a Wish” sticker with the little cake and tons of candles. Seriously perfect! So, I based my whole birthday week in my Create 365™ The Happy Planner™ around that one sticker. I went with gold, salmon/pink and mint. I also got my new The Happy Planner™ 12 Month Box Kit – Best Days and love the ranunculus magnetic bookmark and the amazing sticky note set that I can move from week to week. To me the entire kit was worth it for just those items! Swoon. I also wanted to incorporate a few inspirational messages to remind myself what a blessing this life is and to be grateful to celebrate another birthday! I used the “Your Life is a Gift…” Inspiration Card and I included the “Because when you stop and look around this life is pretty amazing” sticker from The Happy Planner™ Get It Done Stickers. I can’t plan without my To-Do stickers in Gold Foil and Neutral. I added a cute arrow and speech bubble with my trusty TomBow mono liquid glue. You can tell how much I use it in the picture below. It’s one of my most used items. For my actual birthday my husband took me and our little ones to Disneyland to celebrate together! I wanted something to make that event stand out so I used the mambi STICKS™ Gold Foil Alphas & Words to write out “Disneyland” in gold foil. I love how sweet and feminine the week turned out against the soft mint background in the October pages of my Gold Foil Dot The Happy Planner™. What a great birthday week!
I’m looking forward to my best year yet!
Here’s to 31 glorious years of life!
