I am beyond thrilled and honored to announce that I was chosen to be on the Silhouette Design Team for 2016-2017! I am so excited to have the opportunity to create inspirational projects using my favorite crafting tool! I have had my Silhouette CAMEO® for a year and a half and use it almost daily. I literally don’t know how I lived without it! Really.
I haven’t focused on the CAMEO projects I create on my blog or on social media (even though I am consistently creating projects) it has just been a crafting tool that I use for myself. I majorly fly the Silhouette flag though, so when I heard about the Design Team opportunity this year I thought it would be the perfect motivator for me to start sharing my ideas, projects, and tips/how-tos. I am always blown away when I hear of avid crafters that don’t even know what the machines do or how to use them. I think the technology aspect can sometimes scare off crafters who are usually just hands-on paper people. Let me tell you, I was nervous when I first got my machine. I was terrified about breaking the machine or wasting paper or oh-so-precious vinyl! ha! However, a week later and I was blown away at how much I had learned and with real ease. The software is majorly user-friendly and for-that-matter so is the CAMEO. I think what I really love most about the machine is how freeing it is. What I mean is, it helps me to be truly creative, I feel confined only by my imagination! Whereas when you buy a scrapbook kit or stickers at the hobby store you are confined by the shape, size, colors, etc. of the product. With the CAMEO I feel more like an artist, I just need the right “canvas” and inspiration to guide me. With these type of cutting machines you start to think a little different like I need a good glitter cardstock or a floral print paper or the perfect shade of vinyl… Then you just use your imagination and the sky is the limit.
So look forward to some new inspiration using the CAMEO and their other innovative machines in the near future. I am still a crazy-planner-lady so trust me, I will not stop my planner focused posts, the Silhouette posts will just be in addition. And actually a lot may be in collaboration too, since I use the CAMEO to create planner stickers, embellishments and sketches throughout my planner pages.
I hope you’ll follow along on this crafty journey:
