Who’s ready for Thanksgiving?! I am definitely a little behind thanks to an impromptu remodel and I only have myself to blame. And maybe Pinterest, yes, somehow I think Pinterest should take some responsibility as well. 😉
However, before we started ripping into walls and tearing out flooring, my dining table was ready! Now it’s in another room covered in dust. #reallife Anyway, who wants to see a crazy disaster of a house when we can look at pretty a Thanksgiving table setting instead!
I whipped up this table runner in no time flat and you still have time to make one for Turkey Day too! I had left over burlap on hand that I purchased years ago at JoAnn Fabric-when you get a 50% off coupon you can get burlap dirt cheap at JoAnn’s! I cut my burlap into a long table runner (size of runner will depend on the table size) and ironed out the creases.
I also had gold glitter heat transfer on hand because I always have it on hand… Always… It’s my favorite. So I used my CAMEO and cut out a sheet of leaves, I cut some 2″, 1″ & 1/2″ sizes for variety, and the word “gather” and got to work. I just eyeballed it as I ironed on the leaves around the perimeter of the table runner and centered the word “gather” in the middle of the table runner. The whole process took 30 minutes, including the time it took to cut and weed my leaves. Easy peasy and super adaptable. If you already have a table runner on hand you can give it an easy Thanksgiving update with the glitter heat transfer material. Ironing onto the burlap works great for me because it is no sew and goes with my natural-themed place settings for this Thanksgiving.
